Aaron T. Murphy is the “Lead Pastor” and one of the acting elders of NCL. He calls Memphis, TN his home even though he has spent time in other places. He is married to his best-friend Courtney and they reside in Jonesborough, TN. Aaron has a background in construction project management and real estate property management. Aaron has invested several years in planting college campus ministries, leading youth ministries and starting various other ministries across the U.S. He holds a Master of Divinity from Emmanuel Christian Seminary and a B.S. in Construction Engineering and Technology from ETSU. His heart is set on building diverse communities where Jesus Christ is Lord and people are empowered by The Holy Spirit to change the world.
Clay Boyd serves as the “Worship and Counseling Pastor” and one of the acting elders of New Community Life. He is originally from Johnson City, TN but has done some extensive traveling as a teacher and long-term, foreign missionary. Clay has a beautiful daughter named Hannah who is a part of the NCL Youth Ministry. He holds several degrees such as: Master of Education, Master of Divinity in Christian Care and Counseling, B.S., and Th.A. Clay has a deep desire to glorify God in the spirit of excellence.
Alfred Nyamiwa is the “Discipleship and Prayer Pastor” and one of the acting elders of NCL. He is originally from Kenya, Africa and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Emmanuel Christian Seminary. He is married to the love of his life – Ruth and they have three children together (Neema, Naomi, and Eliab). Alfred holds a B.Min. and B.A. He is focused on sharing revelation from Heaven and the manifestation of God’s power.
Vashti Perry serves as the “Worship Arts Director” of NCL. She is a native of Miami, FL but now is a permanent resident of East Tennessee. Vashti is active on the campus of East Tennessee State University and local community in serving the needs of others. Her heart is set on worship and is filled with a high level of creativity and desire for all to experience the presence of God in worship.
Isis Murillo-Higgins serves as the NCL’s “Children’s Minister.” She is a native of Bogota, Colombia but, has spent most of her years in East TN. She is an after school teacher at RISE UP where she is a positive role model for many youth. Isis is currently pursing a B.A. in Child Psychology from ETSU. She resides in Johnson City, TN with her husband Darren. She has a desire to impact as many youth as possible for the Kingdom of God.
